The world is colonized by the social media. This media penetrated into nook and corner of not only the Internet world but also the real world. Even the businesses, buying trends are influenced by the social media. It has become more powerful than any other media. One such powerful social media is Facebook. For websites, traffic from social media sites especially, Facebook is valuable, as it let the websites get maximum exposure. This post will teach you how to increase the traffic to your site with Facebook.

Why Facebook is a better source of traffic?

Facebook has more than 900 million users world wide and is almost reaching the limit in terms of users as even the global internet users comes around 1.3 billion. It’s clear that Facebook has the power to be the trend setter and trend changer. It will be better to catch the trends. So, with Facebook giving the maximum exposure to the website it will be the better source for traffic.

#1 Be Visible

This is the first step. You have to be in Facebook in a position that others can identify you very well. A complete profile will let the visitors know about your whereabouts and what you do. Suppose if the visitor is searching for a blogger and if your profile tells you are a blogger of some blog, it will be easy to find people across borders. A complete profile will let you shine in your community of people.

In fact, this is where the traffic generation starts. A status to popularize content of webpage is not easy. People may get bored with your normal status messages and may not look into your  upcoming status messages. Make your status message unique. Unlike Twitter, Facebook gives you the freedom of using words without limit and the use of URLs and Images. So make your status messages colorful.

#5 Link with other social networks

It may be a time consuming process, but once it is done, it will be fruitful. Link your facebook profile with other social networks like Twitter, Digg, Pinterest, RSS feeds etc. Doing this will help you cover all people from one social network.

#6 Use Social Plugins in your website

Facebook allows developers use social plugins in your website. Try to include Facebook Like/Recommend, Share button, Like Box, Recommendation box in sidebar and Facebook Comments below the post. This will help you get traffic through the viewers who use these plugins as the information will be posted on their Facebook.

#7 Acknowledge to comments

It is a good practice that every one of you must follow. Whenever a user reads your post and comments, Please acknowledge them and thank them immediately. It increases the activity through Facebook and many others can watch the post. In this way, you can bring in lot of visitors to the blog.

#8 Groups

You can start a Facebook group for discussion and join people there. It will be a good interactive forum for the visitors. You can conduct polls, post questions and answer to queries. Now, Facebook allows file sharing through the groups. So you can share any file in the group.

#9 Use Facebook to interact with Visitors

Your own Facebook profile along with the Fan page and Groups will be the best discussion platform for the users. So let the users know about your blog/website through Facebook. It will  be a beautiful place for your interaction with visitors.

Encourage users to connect with you through the social media and keep up the encouragement by acknowledging them and thanking them.
